Eradicating Echo!

We’re all too familiar with that nasty home-video room sound, and probably all too aware that a ton of acoustic tile is outside our budget. There are plenty of “economy” options that’ll get the job done, but which one is best?  That’s what I wanted to find out.

In this experiment, I compare…

  • A bunch of cushions and pillows on the floor
  • A fort made of mover’s blankets
  • A cardboard box lined with acoustic tile

… to a semi-professional isolation booth, and see how they stack up against one another.

tl;dw:  Science says that mover’s blankets are the way to go, but the cardboard box might be a bit easier to work with.
