Hey there! I'm Nick, a content marketer, writer, video producer, and motion graphic designer (as well as a budding software developer), and as of August 2019, I'm currently on the lookout for either full-time employment or freelance work.
I specialize in making educational video and content marketing for B2B SaaS companies, including Twilio, SegMetrics, and Rigbooks. My favorite kind of SaaSes are the ones that help designers, developers, and creatives save time.
A Multi-Skilled Creator
Are you looking for someone with extensive video production and motion graphics experience?
Fixing Your Video
Not only do I live and breathe this stuff, I've taught it extensively. Fixing Your Video (the site you're on now!) is a resource for people who've found themselves thrust into making video for business, but have no idea what they're doing. I was the founder and mostly-solo producer, and to date I've produced somewhere in the range of 60-70 resources, ranging from extensive written guides to elaborate video tutorials that break down complex topics.
Here are some of my favorite episodes...
How your B2B SaaS marketing funnel can be more effective with video!
MY ROLE: Researched, written, filmed, produced, animated entirely by me.
How to use windows as your background without turning your subjects into silhouettes!
MY ROLE: Researched, written, filmed, produced, animated by me; Rob and Aaron (at the beginning) assisted with the production of the opening and closing scene.
Four common mistakes to avoid in Wistia's Soapbox!

Mini-Documentaries
Here's a selection of mini-documentaries I've produced...

Works Well With Others (and By Myself)
Looking for someone who works and communicates effectively with stakeholders and other creatives, but is also capable of owning a project entirely and staying self-motivated?
As the founder and solo content producer of Fixing Your Video, I developed an editorial calendar, researched pains, produced videos, and stayed on schedule with content production, from start to finish. There was no boss to keep me on task; I had to do that myself!
Consulting workflow
As an independent consultant, I've been working with B2B SaaS companies, including Twilio, SegMetrics, and Rigbooks, to create animated explainer videos that break down complex topics and help users discover the superpowers they have at their disposal with these tools. My role wasn’t just to take scripts they had written for me and turn them into a pretty-looking video! I owned the overall production process, starting by collaborating on an outline, turning that into a script, creating the animation, soliciting their feedback at each stage; etc.
Here's an example of a "quick-turnaround" explainer video (one that involves a simpler animation style that can be completed much more quickly than your average explainer)...

Project timelines are usually dictated by me; I keep clients up to date with my progress, but beyond that, all the work is self-managed.
Multimedia team
At my previous role at Frontline Medical Communications, I spent the past year working with a small multimedia team to overhaul the multimedia process into a viable, profitable program for the company. My responsibilities included suggesting new content formats, building workflows, and producing video content daily, all for one of the highest-level audiences in existence: practicing physicians.
Here's a sample of an animation I created for them...
MACRA Monday
MY ROLE: Scripts were written by colleagues; I developed the animation and produced the video.
If it sounds like we might be a great fit, I'd love to have a video chat to learn more about the role and get a better sense of what the day-to-day would look like!
